Booking information

£35.00 / person

Up to 20 people

Description

NEW for 2026

This practical, reflective, and confidence-building full-day safeguarding training is designed for Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs), Deputy DSLs, managers, volunteer coordinators, and safeguarding leads working within VCSE organisations.

Learning outcomes include:

  • Accurately record concerns, disclosures, and allegations
  • Manage difficult conversations in safeguarding contexts
  • Respond appropriately to disclosures and make informed decisions
  • Maintain a strong safeguarding culture within your organisation.

Safeguarding training can be policy/compliance heavy, and yet those responsible for safeguarding in the VCSE sector can still feel a great deal of uncertainty.

Led by safeguarding trainer and Community First Yorkshire Development Officer Andy Shield, this session builds on the success of his 'Safeguarding with Confidence' programme. It offers a focused approach specifically for DSLs and Deputy DSLs in the VCSE sector.

Moving beyond generic safeguarding training, this session addresses the realities faced by charities and community organisations on the ground.
