Description

Join Business in the Community and University South Wales at this event to discuss all about Inclusive Recruitment

Opening Doors:

Opening Doors is Business in the Community’s (BITC) flagship inclusive recruitment campaign. Open to all employers and free to join, we have an ambition to make 2 million jobs more accessible to diverse talent by supporting employers to make changes to the way they recruit.

  • Two-thirds of UK workers say that acceptance and inclusion of employees from all backgrounds is important to them when searching for jobs (YouGov, 2023)

  • 37% of employers report having hard-to-fill vacancies – 52% of public sector employers and 33% of private sector employers (CIPD Labour Market Outlook, 2025)

  • Diverse companies earn 2.5 times higher cash flow per employee, and inclusive teams are more productive by over 35%. (Research and Markets Global Market report, 2022)

See it, Be it Programme:

See it Be it is designed to bring the world of work to life for young people. It connects employers with schools to deliver meaningful, real-world encounters that raise career aspirations, build skills and confidence and improve life chances – particularly for those in areas of disadvantage and low social mobility.

  • Offers insights into the many routes into employment
  • Raises awareness of businesses in the area and variety of roles within the businesses
  • Builds skills and increases confidence of the students
  • Supports the school for the Career and Work-related Experiences element of the curriculum

Join us:

  • Be inspired by our speakers and gain unique insight into the employer actions that are making the most impact to improve social mobility through an intersectional lens.
  • Find out how our network can help you tackle current challenges and provide the toolkits and factsheets to equip you to prioritise equality in your workplace.
  • Be motivated to act faster, braver and bolder in making changes and improvements within your organisation to attract, recruit and retain a diverse workforce.
  • Engage with and learn from our network of responsible businesses and take part in our interactive breakout discussions.
  • Hear more about the ‘See it, Be it’ programme and how your business can get involved
