Enfield Council & the Friends of Enfield Chase invite you to come and join in for the continuation of the Landscape Recovery project at Enfield Chase.
Come along and help London breathe for the future, take an active part in the restoration of our landscape, meet like minded people, experience the beautiful outdoors, see some rarer wildlife and speak with knowledgeable staff who can provide insight into the project and how you can get involved.
What are we doing?
Join us for a hands‑on conservation session where we’ll be moving and partly burying logs in the new river channel to help restore the river
No experience needed — just enthusiasm and a willingness to get stuck in!
What we’ll be doing:
🪵 Moving logs into the new river channel and positioning them to create natural features within the watercourse.
🌱 Partly burying logs to ensure they remain stable and function like naturally fallen trees.
💧 Helping restore natural river processes by creating habitat, varying water flow, and increasing channel diversity.
🤝 Working together in a friendly team to improve our local green spaces.
Why it matters:
By placing logs in the river, we help create natural habitats for fish, insects and other wildlife, slow water flow, reduce erosion, and improve the overall health and resilience of the river ecosystem. These simple interventions mimic natural processes and play an important role in restoring a thriving watercourse.
What do I need to bring?
We will provide teas, coffees and biscuits to all our volunteers. Please bring water and something to eat for lunch (Botany bay farm shop is a great option for lunch). There is a toilet available on site. Please also dress suitably for the weather, wear long trousers if possible and bring good walking shoes/wellies!
