Join us for a rewarding day of hands-on conservation work as we restore the River Beck! Your efforts will help improve the river’s health and habitat for local wildlife.
On the day, you’ll be involved in various activities such as toe boarding removal, installing deflectors, and managing vegetation. It’s a great opportunity to get outdoors, meet like-minded people, and make a tangible difference.
Important Information:
- Time: All events will run from 10:00 to 14:00 with a lunch break
- Location: Langley Waterside Nature Reserve, meet in the car park of the Unicorn Primary School (what three words: ///boats.arrow.august). Google maps link: https://maps.app.goo.gl/kphgM4Mtni5WEkA66
- Travel: the nearest train station is Eden Park and the site is served by the 358 and SL5 buses.
- What to bring: Please bring your own lunch and plenty of water.
- Facilities: Please note that there are no toilet facilities on site. The nearest toiles are at Club Langley- 2 Hawksbrook Ln, Beckenham BR3 3SR
- Requirements: Volunteers must be able to perform physical work in the river and on unstable ground. The work is demanding and tiring.
- Nearest Shop: The nearest shop is a Sainsbury’s Local by the station.
- Clothing: Please wear weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear suitable for working in and around the river.
- Provided: We will provide waders if you put your welly size in the booking form and all necessary tools for the activities.
