Youth Board April Gathering - Maindee Triangle

Come and join our youth board, this month we are meeting in person and having a tour of the Maindee area with our partners from Greening Maindee.

We will gather together at Maindee Triangle, we will then have a tour of the area on foot with Jon and Kathy from Greening Maindee, we will end our session with a short meeting to discuss the agenda.

Please wear:

-comfortable footwear, such as trainers

What is the youth board?

We’re looking for young people to join the Green Champions Youth Board, a core part of the Green Careers project, and represent youth voices.

Purpose: 

• Shape programme design 
• Lead campaigns and awareness raising 
• Provide scrutiny and feedback (e.g., through reports to Public Services Boards)

💬 confidence in sharing your ideas and representing youth perspectives 

👥 Who we’re looking for: 

✅ Aged 16–30 and living in Newport or Swansea 

✅ Passionate about sustainability, the environment, or future careers 

✅ Keen to share ideas and represent young people locally and nationally 

✅ Open-minded, positive, and ready to learn 

✅ We actively encourage applications from young people who are: 

• Black, Asian, or from other ethnically diverse backgrounds 

• Disabled or neurodivergent 

• Women  

• From underrepresented or marginalised communities
