Little Sounds of the City

Take part in a hands-on family music workshop with Oli Steadman of Stornoway. Make and perform a brand-new song about Oxford, built from the sounds and stories of the city. No experience needed, just bring your voice!

This workshop is aimed at ages 5-11. Each child is accompanied by an adult, and grown-ups take part in the workshop too! Tickets are £6 per child, with the accompanying adult free.

This event ticket includes access to the Galleries for one child and one adult. Children must be supervised at all times.

There are two sessions. Each session is 90 minutes: 11am-12:30pm and 2pm-3:30pm.

Oli Steadman is a bassist with Oxford indie-folk band Stornoway and performs solo as 365 Days Folk. He has played everywhere from Glastonbury's Pyramid Stage to campfires and canal boats, and there is nothing he enjoys more than getting a roomful of people singing something they invented ten minutes earlier.

Access

There is step-free, level entry access to the Town Hall via the entrance closest to Carfax Tower (to the left of the main steps as you face the Town Hall). Inside the Museum, Museum Makers is accessible via a platform lift to the Galleries and then a lift to the basement.

Accessible toilets are available in the Museum (close to Museum Makers) and in the Town Hall on the ground floor, before entering the Museum.
