South Tyneside is hosting its first ever Poverty Truth Commission. This is where we bring people with the lived experience of the struggle against poverty - known as Community Commissioners together with Civic Commissioners - people with influence over decision making in South Tyneside. The aim of a poverty truth commission is to really understand the lived experience of struggling against poverty and to make meaningful change here in South Tyneside.

This is our launch event -where our Community Commissioners will tell their stories on a public stage.

We'd love for as many people as possible to attend this launch, listen deeply to the stories our Commissioners will share, and be ready to support the poverty truth commission moving forward.
