Thames21 and Enfield Council invite you to come and join in with this years tree planting at Ferny Hill, Cockfosters, EN4.
After 3 successful years planting a total of more than 130'000+ new trees across the borough, we still have some work to do. Some of the trees planted didn't take root through the hot summer and these need to be re-planted.
Thames21 and Enfield Council are joining forces once again to plant 8000 replacement trees near the London Orbital Loop, at Ferny Hill for 2024.
These events are open to the public, so come along and help London breath for the future, take an active part in the historic restoration of our woodland habitats, meet like minded people who are volunteers just like you, experience the beautiful outdoors, a chance to see some rarer wildlife and speak with knowledgeable staff who can provide insight into the many different ways you can make a difference by becoming a volunteer with Thames21.
You do not require any experience, and you are not required to bring any tools or special equipment, we will provide everything you need on the day. We will provide, wellies (if you need them), a spade for planting, work gloves and PPE, and all the trees you can plant.
We will also provide teas, coffees and biscuits to all our volunteers.
Please bring water and something to eat for lunch, there are no shops near by.
There will be a toilet on site for volunteer use.
Parking is limited at the layby, please park at Trent County Park North, Ferny Hill EN4 0QA, this is about a 10 min walk along the foot path to the meeting point.
The meeting location will be the signed pathway at Ferny Hill Layby, next to the London Orbital Loop. There is a black bar gate, wait off the road there for a staff member to collect you.
This location is on Ferny Hill, Cockfosters EN4. You can also put the following coordinates into google maps (51.66767, -0.14226) which will take you straight to the meeting point.
You can also use What3Words app location (navy.trio.noisy) to take you to the same point.
Please check this location on a map before you leave, so you know where you are going.
An induction briefing and a health and safety talk will be given at the start of every event.
