Every organisation that works with children and young people needs to have someone who takes the lead on Safeguarding and Child Protection – sometimes referred to as a Designated Safeguarding Lead or a Nominated Safeguarding Officer.
This comprehensive programme is designed for Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs), Deputy DSLs, CEOs, senior managers and those with responsibility for safeguarding within their organisation.
Dates/time:
Location: ACAVA, 54 Blechynden Street, London, W10 6RJ
The programme begins with a full-day DSL Level 3 Safeguarding Training (9:30am–3:00pm), providing participants with the knowledge, confidence and practical skills needed to effectively fulfil the responsibilities of a Designated Safeguarding Lead.
It will cover the roles and responsibilities for Designated Safeguarding Leads – what you need to know and what you need to do.
Following this, participants will attend two half-day Train the Trainer sessions, equipping them with the skills, resources and confidence to deliver high-quality safeguarding training within their own organisation for staff and volunteers.
At Young K&C, we know that accessing affordable, high-quality safeguarding training can be challenging for small charities and community organisations. This programme has been developed to help build long-term organisational resilience by enabling participants to deliver consistent safeguarding training internally, reducing reliance on external providers and supporting a strong culture of safeguarding across their organisation.
