Addressing Severe Loneliness: Shaping Solutions for Tower Hamlets
We are pleased to invite you to a collaborative workshop focused on addressing severe loneliness in our community. This event will bring together key stakeholders to reflect on the progress made so far, share insights from recent research findings specific to Tower Hamlets, and co-create actionable solutions for moving forward.
The workshop will give you the chance to:
- Connect with fellow Tower Hamlets VCS, NHS and Council colleagues passionate about tackling loneliness and social isolation.
- Shape the future of Tower Hamlets Council’s work on loneliness.
- Access the latest data and insights on loneliness in Tower Hamlets.
We will have a sandwich lunch with take away boxes available.

Agenda:
- Research on Severe Loneliness in Tower Hamlets: Presenting the latest data and insights to inform our next steps. This session will present a useful summary of the latest loneliness in the borough, as well as a summary of interviews with severely lonely residents. Presentation from Neighbourly Lab. Neighbourly Lab, in partnership with Sheffield Hallam University, has been awarded Government funding to develop the national Tackling Loneliness Hub.
- Group Discussions: Identifying what's working well and brainstorming new ideas. We will have themed tables such as housebound residents, older residents, residents experiencing poverty etc with Tower Hamlets VCS and/or Council experts in the field on each table.
- Action Planning: Developing concrete actions to take forward, building on community strengths and addressing gaps. Help inform what Tower Hamlets Council and tackling loneliness network should prioritise.
- This workshop will provide an opportunity to collaborate, learn from one another, and contribute your expertise to help shape future efforts in tackling loneliness and social isolation in Tower Hamlets.
