Description

Join us for a welcoming and informative session focused on health and wellbeing in later life.

This is a great opportunity to hear from guest speakers and connect with others who are passionate about supporting older people in our communities.

Our Age Friendly Spring Network meeting focuses on Health and Wellbeing, and gives members the opportunity to hear from several guest speakers, and share best practice on how we can support older people to age and live well in North Yorkshire.

We’ll hear from North Yorkshire Sport on the importance of staying active in later life, as well as Rachel Gregory from Open Country, a Yorkshire charity with over 35 years of experience of working alongside disabled people, helping them to access and enjoy the countryside. They provide a variety of outdoor activities and the provision of information, training and advice for all.

We’ll hear from Holly Bainbridge of Oxmoor Care Consultancy, who will share practical insights on navigating care in later life, including choosing support, accessing funding, and ensuring the right care is in place. Holly will also talk about her work with Primrose Care Farm, highlighting how outdoor, person-centred support can benefit people living with dementia.

There’ll be plenty of time to connect, share experiences, and discuss how together we can help older people live well in North Yorkshire.
