Category 1/2 Walk – Easy/Moderate. A selection of trial and path that involves some ascent and descent. Total distance is 9.5km (5.9miles). Total elevation gain is 405m.
Set off is 10am.
Starting and finishing at Kirknewton Village Hall Car Park, this is a circular route which takes us to Yeavering Bell - one of the largest iron hillforts and is a place for wild Cheviot goats to rest. There is a lot of wildlife on this walk too.
The walk will take us from the Village Hall, and heading in an anticlockwise direction, the path will take us along College Burn, along to Hethpool Linn and then round to a slow and gradual incline to Yeavering Bell – the highest point in the walk.
The trail then loops back to Kirknewton Village Hall Car Park.
At the end of the walk, there are coffee shops in Kirknewton and Wooler which serve food and drinks.

Cost of Event:
The wellbeing walk is offered as a free event, as the ability to pay should not be a barrier to access nature in support of your health and wellbeing.
However, if you feel you are able to make a contribution to cover the costs of these walks, we would be very grateful for the offer of a donation - either in cash on the day or via bank transfer.
This will help not only cover the costs for the day but also scale up the number of walks we are able to offer.
For those able to pay, a donation of between £5-£10 per person would be great.
This can be paid in cash on the day, or via online transfer. Bank details for online transfer are:
