Keswick Weekender&nbsp;Saturday 2nd&nbsp;to Sunday 3rd&nbsp;May 2026&nbsp;&nbsp;Introduction:&nbsp; Welcome everyone to the legendary Keswick Weekender!&nbsp;&nbsp;This Weekender&nbsp;has been designed based on feedback from&nbsp;previous events, my 10 years of experience of&nbsp;arranging these&nbsp;trips away&nbsp;and belief that the therapeutic power of the outdoors should be accessible to everyone.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Accessibility to me means many things; from the cost&nbsp;of the weekend&nbsp;to&nbsp;the&nbsp;feeling that you belong. From transportation to&nbsp;challenging&nbsp;any&nbsp;self-doubt.&nbsp;From trying new experiences to having someone who&nbsp;can actively listen without judgement to any concerns you may have.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Seeing the smiles on faces,&nbsp;watching&nbsp;new friendships being&nbsp;formed,&nbsp;witnessing&nbsp;self-confidence growing and being part of an inclusive&nbsp;group that lifts&nbsp;each&nbsp;other up is so rewarding.&nbsp;It is this that&nbsp;makes&nbsp;the Weekenders so special.&nbsp;&nbsp;Below is an itinerary for the Weekender, which provides some details as to what to expect, what kit to bring,&nbsp;timings&nbsp;etc.&nbsp;&nbsp;See you in May!&nbsp;&nbsp;Angela&nbsp;&nbsp;Saturday&nbsp;2nd&nbsp;May 2026&nbsp;&nbsp;For those wishing to take part in Keswick Parkrun, meet at&nbsp;<a href="https://www.dentonhouse-keswick.co.uk/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" style="color: windowtext;">Denton House Hostel</a>&nbsp;car park by&nbsp;08:40&nbsp;at the latest&nbsp;and return to Denton House Hostel car park&nbsp;to meet the rest of the group.&nbsp;&nbsp;We will be setting off as a group at&nbsp;10:30.&nbsp;&nbsp;The entire day will be spent in and around Derwentwater, with all activities accessible by foot.&nbsp;&nbsp;There is a mix of wet, dry, individual, and team activities, all of which have been risk assessed and supported by qualified and experienced members of the group.&nbsp;&nbsp;Daytime&nbsp;Schedule:&nbsp;&nbsp;10:30-12:00&nbsp;&nbsp;Walk through Keswick Town Centre to&nbsp;Crow Park:&nbsp;We Are One and Yoga Stretch&nbsp;12:00-13:15&nbsp;Walk along Derwentwater Shoreline to&nbsp;Surprise View&nbsp; Denton House Hostel

Category 1 Walk – Easy. A selection of trial and path that involve little uphill and downhill. Total distance is 9.7km (6miles). Linhope Spout is a plunge pool, so there is the option to take a dip (weather permitting). Set off is 10am. Starting and finishing at&nbsp;Ingram Church&nbsp;Car&nbsp;Park&nbsp;and heading in a clockwise direction, the trail goes through&nbsp;Hartside, up the valley to&nbsp;Linhope&nbsp;Spout – a beautiful&nbsp;waterfall nestled in the Northumberland landscape, then back down and onwards along the River Breamish, before circling southwards and back around the trailhead.&nbsp;&nbsp;Linhope&nbsp;Spout is a plunge pool, so weather&nbsp;permitting, you can take a dip.&nbsp;&nbsp;There are&nbsp;couple&nbsp;of hills to climb along the route, but these are gentle ascents and descents.&nbsp;&nbsp;Some of the paths can get a bit&nbsp;muddy following periods of&nbsp;bad weather, so good waterproof walking boots or shoes are&nbsp;needed.&nbsp;&nbsp;At the end of the walk, there&nbsp;is a&nbsp;coffee shop&nbsp;in&nbsp;Ingram&nbsp;to grab a drink and cake before heading home.&nbsp; Kit needed (Everyone):<ul><li>Decent walking boots/shoes with firm soles and good grip</li><li>Comfortable walking trousers/shorts/leggings</li><li>Base layer</li><li>Jumper/fleece</li><li>Coat</li><li>Waterproofs</li><li>Hat</li><li>Gloves</li><li>Backpack to include:</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Water (1l-1.5l)</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Lunch</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Snacks</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Any medication</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Handwarmers (if needed)&nbsp;</li></ul> Kit needed (Plunge Pool):<ul><li>Swimsuit</li><li>Hat</li><li>Towel/Robe</li><li>Swimming shoes (if needed)</li><li>Swimming gloves (if needed)</li></ul> Cost of Event:The Wellbeing Walks are offered as free events, as the ability to pay should not be a barrier to access nature in support of your health and wellbeing. Wellbeing Walk - Hartside, Linhope Spout and River Breamish Circular

Category 1/2 Walk – Easy/Moderate. A selection of trial and path that involves some ascent and descent. Total distance is 17km (10.6miles). Total elevation gain is 324m. Set off is 10am. Starting and finishing at&nbsp;Horsemarket&nbsp;Car&nbsp;Park, this is a loop taking in both&nbsp;High&nbsp;Force and Low Force&nbsp;in the North Pennines. The trail leads us&nbsp;along country lanes through various pastures along the side of the valley, descending through Ravelin Gill and passing Newbiggin to arrive in&nbsp;Bowlees. From there, we make our way down to the Tees riverside&nbsp;and join the&nbsp;Pennine Way, taking in&nbsp;Low&nbsp;Force. We continue along the riverside via Holwick Bridge&nbsp;to High Force – England’s biggest waterfall. The return is along the Pennine way back to Low Force,&nbsp;along the riverside back to the&nbsp;Car&nbsp;Park. The route includes several climbs and descents throughout,&nbsp;with&nbsp;several steep flights of stone steps. The paths are&nbsp;a mixture&nbsp;of stone paths, tracks, rocky and uneven&nbsp;paths,&nbsp;and grass field paths. At the end of the walk, there&nbsp;are&nbsp;coffee&nbsp;shops&nbsp;in Middleton-in-Teesdale&nbsp;which serve&nbsp;food and drinks.
