Action for Silk Stream River Action Day - The Meads and Lyndhurst Park

Booking information

Free

Up to 20 people

Description

During this event we will be tackling the growth of the non-native invasive plant species, Himalayan Balsam, which is springing up in the riverbank area. Himalayan Balsam weakens the river banks and shades out native plant species so it is important that we do our best to remove it.

We’ll also be doing a litter pick to remove plastics and waste from the river.

Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Please make sure you have weather appropriate clothing for the day.

What to Bring:

Dress for the weather and the task – long trousers are advisable as there are nettles.

Please bring a packed lunch, plenty of fluids, a hat and suncream.

We will bring tea/coffee and biscuits.

We will provide all other equipment needed for the event and we look forward to welcoming you!

We will meet at the entrance gate to Lyndhurst Park next to The Meads and Goldbeaters Grove.
