Description

A 6‑session psychoeducation group created for Black women and Black Mixed Heritage women of African ancestry across the diaspora.

This group offers a culturally rooted, supportive space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with yourself, your voice, your body, and your sense of identity. It is a place to be heard, affirmed, and supported within community.

About the Group

Rooted in Kuumba Healing, an African‑centred approach, this workshop uses creativity, voice, movement, and shared reflection as tools for learning and healing. The group supports participants to explore self‑expression, reconnect with their inner wisdom, and release what no longer serves them.

The group is facilitated by a qualified and experienced psychotherapist and offers a safe, respectful, and culturally affirming environment.

What You Can Expect

Across the 6 sessions, participants will be supported to:

  • Speak up and speak out in safe and supported ways
  • Reconnect with their bodies and inner awareness
  • Let go of unhelpful patterns or burdens
  • Strengthen identity, dignity, agency, and self‑trust

No previous experience with therapy or groups is needed. Participants are encouraged to engage at their own pace.
