Description

Join us for a behind the scenes visit to DWR Cymru - Welsh Water, the only water company of its kind in the UK. They don’t have shareholders, which means they put every penny back into looking after your water and our beautiful environment.

Dwr Cymru serving 1.4 million homes and 3 million people in most of Wales, Herefordshire and parts of Deeside. 828 million litres of water supplied every day.

With 3,000 employees, maintaining over 26,500km of water mains and over 30,000km of sewers, Welsh Water is the 4th largest company in Wales

The company looks after 92 reservoirs and manages over 800 wastewater treatment works, analysing more than 600,000 tests a year sampling drinking water.

This visit will take place at their Cardiff East Waste Water Treatment Works, Tidefields Road, Rover Way, CF24 2RX.

During the day we will meet their Biodiversity team, River Water Quality team and we will learn about apprenticeship and graduate opportunities. We will also be given a tour of the plant.

Not all of the tour will be accessible by wheelchair users but we would ask you not to be put off by this as it only forms a small part of the day.

The day will run from 10:00-14:00 with a minibus pickup from Cardiff Central Station at 9:15am to take us to and from the site which is difficult to access via public transport.
