Description

To celebrate the 80th anniversary of VE Day, Sevenoaks District Council are hosting a week of free events from Monday 5th May to Friday 9th May. From singing and stories, to tea dances and themed cooking sessions, there's something for everyone!

Step back in time to 1940s Britain and join us for a free 1940s cooking session in Swanley.

Experience the ingenuity and resourcefulness of wartime cooking as we recreate delicious meals using authentic ration-era ingredients.

You will learn how to make hearty dishes, creative substitutes and classic comfort foods that kept families fed during WWII.

Whether you're a history buff or just love a culinary challenge, this hands-on session will transport you to the past - aprons on and spoons at the ready!
