A Garden to Hold is an artistic and participatory project designed to support all those connected to the Story Garden as they navigate the grief surrounding the imminent closure of the space. Honouring the relationships across communities and species, A Garden to Hold aims to document the presence of those who have tended to, gathered in, and been touched by the garden, capturing the way the body feels and attunes to this space.
Led by partner dance artist Alejandra Gissler over two days, the project will weave together improvised movement, deep listening, collective making and meal sharing as ways to collectively grieve and celebrate the life and legacy of the garden. A movement score will also be co-created and later shared in an public event, alongside other artistic responses to the Story Garden.
The workshop is open to all ages 16+ and light refreshments (tea and cake) will be provided on both days.
