Global Generation is an educational charity, which works together with local children and young people, businesses, residents and families in Camden, Islington and Southwark to create healthy, integrated and environmentally responsible communities. Our work connects people of all ages to nature in the middle of the city. 

Hello!Thank you for signing up for Twilight Building&nbsp;which kicks off at&nbsp;4 p.m. and runs until 7 p.m. This is a drop in session for those who want to help with building the site after work or school. Getting There:We are located on the&nbsp;<a href="https://maps.app.goo.gl/VFs9jT93djC1sJd27" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Triangle Site, N1 0AZ</a>. This is an active construction site located off York Way beside the Author building. The exact coordinates on What Three Words are&nbsp;<a href="https://what3words.com/trio.amused.clocks" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">trio.amused.clocks</a>. There is a gate at the entrance which should be open on arrival, but if you have any difficulties with access, please contact alice@globalgeneration.org.uk. What to expect:<ul><li>The event will run completely outside with a few covered areas. It will go ahead rain or shine so&nbsp;please come prepared for the weather. We recommend waterproof clothing if rain is forecast and hats and sunscreen if sunny.</li></ul> <ul><li>We require site boots to be worn on site at all times and have a set amount of pairs to share, so please wear socks or bring them with you. We suggest bringing clothes you don’t mind getting muddy or dirty -&nbsp;cob is messy business!</li></ul> <ul><li>While&nbsp;we will provide all the PPE you’ll need&nbsp;for the activities, feel free to bring your preferred gear, especially site boots, if you have them. Your own boots will always be more comfortable than ours!</li></ul> <ul><li>Our activities are suitable for people of all ages, including children&nbsp;as long as they are accompanied by an adult throughout.&nbsp;We will give lots of instructions so don’t worry about being a beginner. If you have any mobility or accessibility queries, feel free to email in advance or speak to the team on arrival.</li></ul> <ul><li>There may be some photography and video taken during the event to capture the site in full swing, please speak to a member of staff when you arrive if you don't want to be included.</li></ul> <ul><li>To reduce waste, please&nbsp;bring a water bottle and/or travel mug with you, if you have one.</li></ul>We can't wait to see you there!The Global Generation Team

Are you interested in working with natural materials and developing building skills on a live site?&nbsp; We are building three structures &amp; an amazing new habitat garden on a permanent site in the Kings Cross Development. Each of the structures champions a different natural, traditional craft and explores the value of regenerative design.&nbsp; With all our garden projects, like the Paper Garden most recently, we always involve the community in the build and this site is no different.&nbsp;Come join us at the #TriangleSite for an evening of learning new skills and practicing sustainable ways of building. Every Wednesday from March 12.&nbsp;

Easter hunt and chocolate making all wrapped up with Linda and Maia! 26 April Gardening with Sophie!Come have some fun planting and learning all about our natural world. Also, CSM artist Connie will be inviting you to draw from nature and make a den. 3 May Nature Weave - let nature take you on a journey, guided by nature artist Seyi. Learn how to turn 2 boring fences into fun works of art! Suitable for all ages.&nbsp; 10 May - Pollinator Procession Birthday Party!How flowers turn to fruit! Dont just learn about the pollinators, become one! Fun facts, garden dance, followed by a masks / wings making workshop. Optional - join the pollinator procession to celebrate the birthday of the "<a href="https://www.globalgeneration.org.uk/our-gardens/floating-garden" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Floating Garden</a>" our barge moored Granary Square (2pm-4pm). About your visit - our sessions run from - morning 11-12.30 and afternoon 1.30pm -3pm (unless stated "all day"). All activities are free, unless stated. The garden and our activities are open to all ages - we can make adjustments for younger / older participants. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Please feel free to drop by, bring a picnic lunch, use the Play Area, Mud Kitchen, Reading Room (by the Cob Castle) bring old books to share, or take a book to read! If Fam Sat isn't the best thing to do on Saturday - please let us know how we can make that the best outdoor / indoor place for all the family to be in London! Story Garden

Do you love getting outside and getting your hands dirty? Are you interested in learning more about growing vegetables? Are you already a seasoned gardener with knowledge to share? Do you want to meet people in an informal and supportive environment? Whatever your level of gardening knowledge, you're welcome to join our friendly Gardening Club community at the Story Garden. All tools and equipment are provided, and free refreshments are served. What to expect <ul><li>Sessions start promptly at 2pm for us to share tea together in our beautiful Roundhouse building which is straight ahead of you as you enter the garden.</li><li>We leave space for introductions and contemplation at the start of the session before moving into gardening activities, to encourage participants to get to know each other as well as the garden.</li><li>We also have a check-out at the end for people to reflect on what they've learnt or gained from the session.</li><li>If you have any particular needs which may require additional support, please do let us know when you book.</li></ul> Please note, this session is aimed at adults. Children and young people under 18 are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult at all times. This is a community session for local residents - if you're a group of colleagues looking to come and work in the garden together, then we'd recommend booking a <a href="https://www.globalgeneration.org.uk/get-involved/businesses/corporate-volunteering-days" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Corporate Volunteering session</a> which can be tailored to the needs of your organisation.

A series of evening classes of practical garden tasks and knowledge sharing, mixed with seasonal presentations about garden theory. This is free and open to Southwark residents.

Paper Garden

Join us for an evening on the water getting to know and taking care of the herbs and plants growing on board our Floating Garden barge. These sessions run monthly as a space to share knowledge and stories as we plant, propagate and harvest together. All tools and equipment are provided as well as refreshments. Please note, this session is aimed at adults. Children and young people under 18 are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Twilight Gardening at the Floating Garden

Floating Garden

Join us for a five-week immersive journey of gentle improvised movement and creative practices to explore the healing power of connecting our bodies to the land as we say farewell to the Story Garden in its final year. Led by dance artist Alejandra Gissler and commissioned by London Contemporary Dance School at The Place. A collective meal will be included each session. We encourage participants to attend the full 5-week series for a deeper community experience. These sessions are part of our Feel Good Fridays programme which we offer to local residents in Camden and Islington who may be experiencing social isolation, challenges to mental or physical health or restricted access to safe green spaces.
