Global Generation

Global Generation is an educational charity, which works together with local children and young people, businesses, residents and families in Camden, Islington and Southwark to create healthy, integrated and environmentally responsible communities. Our work connects people of all ages to nature in the middle of the city. 

Are you interested in working with natural materials to develop building, landscaping and wildlife friendly horticulture skills?&nbsp; We have collaboratively built three structures and four distinct garden spaces on our permanent site in Kings Cross. Each structure champions a different natural, traditional craft and explores the value of regenerative design.&nbsp;Our gardens demonstrate ecologically beneficial ways of working with nature. Although the construction phase has come to an end, we still have a lot of work to do - join us at the #TriangleSite for an evening of learning new skills and practicing sustainable ways of making, building and growing!

Join us for an evening on the water getting to know and taking care of the herbs and plants growing on board our Floating Garden barge. These sessions run monthly as a space to share knowledge and stories as we plant, propagate and harvest together. All tools and equipment are provided as well as refreshments. Please note, this session is aimed at adults. Children and young people under 18 are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Join us for a Family Celebration at the Paper Garden, where we can enjoy the garden in mid-summer together. A relaxed day where families can help with gardening tasks such as watering and harvesting, or join in with optional workshops, such as willow weaving, tea tasting and bug hunting. Lunch will also be provided. The Paper Garden has an indoor community classroom, built by over 3,000 people, and a beautiful garden. It has been created on the site of the old Daily Mail printworks in Canada Water. In 2021 it moved from its original location on the site of the old printing press to its current site of the former paper warehouse. It provides an invaluable community-focused green space in this rapidly developing area.
