Join us this Winter for an exciting course at London Zoo! This unique opportunity gives students aged 12–15 a behind-the-scenes look at the wide range of careers at the Zoo—from zookeepers to graphic designers—while working together to design the perfect animal enclosure.
Course Overview:
- Day 1 (Monday 22nd December):
- On-site at London Zoo. Students will take part in hands-on activities and classroom learning led by ZSL staff, exploring how the Zoo cares for over 10,000 animals and why conservation matters.
- Day 2 (Tuesday 23rd December):
- On-site at London Zoo. Students continue their learning with more interactive sessions led by ZSL staff, gaining insight into the variety of roles that support the Zoo’s mission.
- Day 3 (Wednesday 24th December):
- Students and their families will receive free tickets to visit London Zoo. Students will be provided with guided learning resources to support their project work, and a packed lunch voucher (and hot drink for the adults).
- Day 4 (Flexible date):
- Students will complete their final project work from home, using everything they’ve learned to design the perfect animal enclosure for a species of their choice.
Food & Meals:
- Monday & Tuesday: A hot vegan lunch will be provided for all students.
- Wednesday: Students will receive a packed lunch voucher; adults will receive a hot drink.
Additional Info:
- Includes AQA-accredited certificates - great for school or university portfolios.
- Priority will be given to students on Free School Meals who have not previously completed this course.
- Attendance on Monday and Tuesday is mandatory to be eligible for tickets.
