Sashiko Style Visible Mending with Ebru (SELVAGE, UK)

No experience necessary – all skill levels welcome!

Join us for a creative and meditative workshop exploring the art of visible mending through sashiko stitching.

Workshop Length: 2 hour 

Sashiko is a traditional Japanese technique that uses simple running stitches to create beautiful geometric patterns while reinforcing and revitalizing worn clothing.

In this workshop you will learn:

• How to prepare your garment and a fabric patch for mending
• How to create a simple sashiko design and mark it on fabric
• How to start and finish your work and master the sashiko technique

Materials: Please bring a Sashiko Kit (Sashiko Needle, Sashiko Cotton Thread, Clear Ruler, Fabric Marking Pen, Half a meter of Dark 100% Cotton Fabric, pair of scissors).
