Description

The Food for the Planet Project is a collaborative initiative aimed at transforming the food system to combat climate change and environmental degradation. It focuses on local authorities, businesses, and communities to take action and create a more sustainable food system. The project emphasizes the importance of food systems in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and addressing biodiversity loss. It also aims to promote healthy and sustainable diets, which are crucial for combating climate change and restoring nature. The project encourages local authorities to utilize their planning powers to support sustainable farming and to align their food purchasing commitments with climate targets. Additionally, it provides resources and support for communities to fight against the rise of factory farms and corporate factory farms that threaten local rivers and wildlife.
