Description

Join Thames21 for a day of meaningful impact and community connection as we focus on revitalizing the enchanting River Rom and enhancing the delicate wetland ecosystem within The Chase Nature Reserve.

🌱 Reconnecting with Nature: Among other things, we will be building dead hedges over the next few of months. Dead hedges are just that, hedges made out of dead matierals - leaf litter, sticks, cuttings etc. Dead hedges offer a myriad of benefits for nature. They create shelter for wildlife, promote biodiversity, prevent soil erosion, and recycle organic materials. By building dead hedges, you actively contribute to a greener, more sustainable environment.

🌊 Restoring the Wetlands: The wetlands are a vital component of our ecosystem, and it's our collective responsibility to preserve them. Get your hands dirty with a thorough litter pick, ensuring that the wetlands remain a safe haven for local wildlife. Together, we'll remove debris that has found its way into these precious waters, allowing the wetlands to flourish unimpeded.

🤝 Community and Camaraderie: Beyond the immediate impact on the environment, volunteering is a chance to forge new connections and deepen existing ones. Join a diverse group of like-minded individuals who share a passion for the environment and a commitment to making a positive change.

🗓️ Save the Date: Mark your calendars for the 11th of December at 10:00-14:30. Whether you're a seasoned volunteer or brand new to the experience, we welcome everyone with open arms. Together, we'll contribute to a healthier, more vibrant natural space for present and future generations to enjoy.

📍 Location: The Chase Nature Reserve, Dagenham, Romford RM7 0SS

We will meet by the Eastbrookend Discovery Centre Car Park, next to the picnic area and walk to the wetland
