Trustee training: build confidence, make an impact

Join this friendly, practical session designed to help new and existing trustees, CIC directors and committee members feel clear and confident in their role.


You’ll gain a straightforward understanding of:

  • Trustee roles and responsibilities
  • Governance and legal basics
  • How boards work effectively
  • Making the balance between management and governance work.


You’ll leave with the knowledge and confidence to strengthen your organisation, make better decisions, and support your community more effectively.

Cost & eligibility

Thanks to support from The Woodsmith Foundation, places are just £5 for groups in Whitby and surrounding villages. Maximum of three attendees per organisation per session and you can only attend one session as places are limited.


Who’s it for?

Trustees, CIC directors and VCSE committee members (new or experienced) based in Whitby and nearby villages.


This training is delivered by Shahida Beswick, Director, Manar Associates Ltd - an experienced specialist in charity governance.
