Join Thames21 and the Friends of Bostall Heath and Woods for a leisurely walk through Bostall Woods. This is a chance to discover the beauty of the woods as well as the problems it faces.
The Wickham Valley Watercourse runs along the foot of the woodlands and has been the source of flooding issues in the past. It is the focus of the Greenwich Natural Flood Management Project being run by Greenwich Council and Thames21. We will be discussing the plans for this project which include regular monitoring of the river, and woodland management techniques to help reduce flooding by storing water in the woods. We will also talk about the work being done by the Friends of Bostall Heath and Woods. There will be tea, coffee and biscuits after the walk.
Don’t forget to wear suitable footwear and bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated. We can’t wait to see you there!
