Ride Bright is back!✨
📅 Date: Saturday 7 November 2026
⏰ Time: Meeting at 4.30pm, ride starts at 5pm
📍 Meeting Point: Queens Park, Victoria Road entrance
📍 Ride Ends at 6pm: Kinning Park Complex (free food provided at the end for the first 150 signed up!)
💫 The event is organised by Sunny Cycles and Women On Wheels with funding from Glasgow City Council's Area Partnership.
Ride Bright is all about raising awareness of women's safety cycling at night. 3 out of 4 women in the UK change their outdoor activity routines during the winter months - and many for safety reasons. Whether it's avoiding unlit paths, altering routes, or stopping cycling at night altogether. We are on a mission to change this.
On Ride Bright we reclaim the streets with lights, music and joy. This is the third time we are running the event. The previous rides were absolutely amazing with more than 100 women riding together, lighting up the streets. It felt truly empowering!
We gather in Queens Park, Victoria Road entrance at 4.30pm and the ride starts at 5pm. The ride finishes around 6pm at Kinning Park Complex where there will be food and refreshments and we get to hang out and chat. If you're new to Kinning Park Complex, it's got a brilliant history of activism and community (you can thank some awesome mothers you campaigned in 1996 to keep the space open to the community!) - we don't know about you but we can't think of a better place to finish our ride.
The ride will be about an hour and finish at roughly 6pm. You can choose whether you want to head home afterwards or whether you want to join us at Kinning Park Complex. If you join us at Kinning Park Complex we need to be out by 7.30pm.
Bring lights and if you can, decorate your bike with more lights, colours and banners. Psst... We've got an exclusive discount code to Helmut - the brand that creates the awesome, sparkling helmet covers. Once you have signed up, you'll receive the discount code.
Please note this ride is only open to women and girls aged 16+. We welcome all women (cis, trans, intersex) and non-binary people to our activities, events and services.
Let's show them how joyful our roads really should be after dark!🌙
