Category 1 Walk – Easy. A selection of trial and path that involves gentle ascent and descent. Total distance is 10.1km (6.3miles). Total elevation gain is 143m.
Set off is 10am.
Starting and finishing at Whitburn Bents Car Park, this walk will take you along a beautiful coastal path which provides amazing views across the water and the cliffs.
The path takes us through Whitburn Point Local Nature Reserve before continuing to The Wherry. We then head along Lizard Point to Souter Lighthouse, and onto Marsden Bay. At Marsden, we leave the coastal path heading to Marsden Old Quarry Local Nature Reserve and onto Cleadon Hills Local Nature Reserve. We will find a place to stop on the hills for a spot of lunch before heading back to Whitburn, where we will grab coffee and cake before heading home.

Cost of Event:
The wellbeing walk is offered as a free event, as the ability to pay should not be a barrier to access nature in support of your health and wellbeing.
However, if you feel you are able to make a contribution to cover the costs of these walks, we would be very grateful for the offer of a donation - either in cash on the day or via bank transfer.
This will help not only cover the costs for the day but also scale up the number of walks we are able to offer.
For those able to pay, a donation of between £5-£10 per person would be great.
This can be paid in cash on the day, or via online transfer. Bank details for online transfer are:
