Summer Picnic for Neurodivergent Families

Join the MyOTAS team for a half-day of chilled out activities at Memorial Park, Wickford.

Bring a picnic, plenty of drinks and suitable clothing, sun-cream (hopefully) and waterproofs/an umbrella (hopefully not!). 

Age range - 5 to 16 years

Please note parent(s)/carer(s) must stay with children at all times and remain responsible for their children/young people. Due to the nature of activities and the proximity to a river, we recommend that adults are responsible for no more than 1 child. 

Please book a place for each child attending the event - you don't need to book places for adults, but an adult does need to accompany each child.

Where to Find Us

The picnic takes place at Memorial Park, Rettendon View, Wickford, SS11 8JE. If you park in the carpark at Rettendon View and then follow the path/road into the park itself on foot, alongside the playground. Behind the playground is the building housing Memorial Park Cafe and the toilets. If you walk on the path to the left of this building you will see a wooded area behind the Bowling Club, which is where the picnic will take place.

Refunds/Cancellations

In the event of very bad weather the event will be cancelled and all ticket holders will be notified via email and will be issued with a full refund (if it is a paid for activity). 

In any event, if you are unable to attend the picnic please let us know so that we can pass the place on to someone on the waiting list.

Managing the risk of highly infectious illnesses

We are keen to take extra precautions with the care of every parent/child and our staff and volunteers. To help us keep everyone healthy and safe, please do not attend if you, or anyone in your household has has flu or has had vomiting/diarrhea within the last 24 hours.
