Description

Leadership shaped by lived expertise is powerful—it drives change, builds connection, and brings real understanding to the communities we serve.

Our flagship training, Introduction to Lived Experience Leadership, is designed for both established LEx Leaders who actively use lived expertise in their roles and aspiring LEx Leaders looking to develop their leadership journey.

Led by experienced professional trainers who are LEx Leaders themselves, this session isn’t just theory—it’s built on real-life experiences, hard-won insights, and the deep knowledge that comes from navigating leadership through lived expertise.

Whether you’re a seasoned LEx Leader refining your approach or someone stepping into leadership for the first time, this training is an opportunity to:

  • Explore what LEx Leadership means in practice
  •  Understand the value it brings to organisations and communities
  •  Recognise and navigate the barriers LEx Leaders face
  • Connect with others who share your leadership journey
  •  A comprehensive resource list after the session, packed with LEx-centered insights

What people have said about this training:

The facilitation enabled for honest, vulnerable and helpful discussions that will support me as an individual but also within my role. The content was appropriate, well delivered and contextualised. “ Training participant

“I would absolutely recommend working with LEx Scotland. The session provided the perfect balance of challenge, support, activity and reflection, theory and action. We were encouraged to challenge ourselves and each other. The principles of inclusive facilitation were role-modelled to perfection. Ultimately, the session enabled us to identify the things we need to do better and coming up with a plan to help us to get there.”, Emily Lomax, Partner, WRKWLL

This training has a flexible pricing model, based on individual financial circumstances or organisational turnover. When you register, you will be asked to choose how much you want to pay.

This is entirely up to you, but as a guide we suggest the following:

  • £35 discounted price - if you are paying yourself, and you don’t have much disposable income after you have paid for essentials OR if you are working with a small organisation that has a turnover of less than  £100k per year
  • £70 full price - if you are paying yourself, and you have disposable income after paying for essentials OR if you are working with an organisation with a  turnover of between £100k and £300k per year
  • £140 “Pay it Forward” price - if you can comfortably afford to pay this yourself, OR if you are working with a larger organisation with a turnover of more than £300k per year. The more “Pay it Forward” places that are paid for, the more places we are able to offer at reduced prices to individuals and organisations that may otherwise be unable to access training.
