๐ŸŒฑ Youth Leadership Opportunity: Help Shape Green Careers in Wales 

Are you aged 16โ€“30, passionate about sustainability, and ready to influence how green careers are developed across Wales? 

Weโ€™re looking for young people to join the Green Champions Youth Board, a core part of the Green Careers project, and represent youth voices across three key levels of engagement: 


Green Champions Youth Board (Ongoing) 


Purpose: 

  • Shape programme design 
  • Lead campaigns and awareness raising 
  • Provide scrutiny and feedback (e.g., through reports to Public Services Boards) 

Structure: 


  • Suggested size: 8โ€“12 young people 
  • Supported by youth engagement staff 
  • Includes at least one rotating Youth Board Rep with support to present and contribute to external meetings below  

 

๐Ÿ”น External steering group board  

Represent youth perspectives at a national level alongside senior decision-makers from Welsh Government, education, industry, housing, and environmental organisations. 

 

๐Ÿ”น Locality Meetings in Swansea and Newport 

Engage with local partners to shape green career opportunities in your community and ensure regional relevance.

โœ… Aged 16โ€“30 and living in Newport or Swansea 

โœ… Passionate about sustainability, the environment, or future careers 

โœ… Keen to share ideas and represent young people locally and nationally 

โœ… Open-minded, positive, and ready to learn 

โœ… We actively encourage applications from young people who are: 

โ€ข Black, Asian, or from other ethnically diverse backgrounds 

โ€ข Disabled or neurodivergent 

โ€ข Women  

โ€ข From underrepresented or marginalised communities
