Thames21 are excited to invite all of our citizen science groups from across London and beyond to a celebration event at Firs Farm Wetlands on Tuesday 27th May. This is a chance for us all to come together and celebrate the fantastic work of the past year, and help us plan how to make even greater impact with the data we collect.
The day will be split into two sessions. Half of you will attend a morning workshop and the other half an afternoon workshop, so we can keep things focused and give everyone plenty of time to get involved.
The groups from both workshops will come together over a picnic lunch in the middle of the day to celebrate everything you've achieved and catch up with fellow citizen scientists from other groups. It should be a great opportunity to swap stories and talk through the joys and challenges of monitoring your local river.
During the workshop we will explore the Thames21 Citizen Science Dashboard. We will work in groups organised by catchment to analyse your data, determine what it is telling us about the health of your local river and plan how to take action. Please bring a fully charged laptop for as we will be working with the dashboard online.
There will also be a calibration stall running throughout the day — bring along your kit including Hanna Checker and conductivity probe and we'll test them for accuracy, recalibrate where needed, or swap out any bits that have seen better days.
We are really looking forward to seeing all of you there and please reach out if you have any questions.
