Description

The Summer of Appreciation project is delighted to offer the following...

Embark on an exclusive and inspiring 2.5-hour walk across the reserve this summer with one of our dedicated Residential Volunteer Wardens and the Visitor Experience Officer, where you'll encounter a fascinating array of wildlife. As we traverse the stunning reserve, we’ll seek out extraordinary species such as the Marsh Harrier, Egrets, Avocets, Lapwings, butterflies, and dragonflies. If luck is on our side, we might even spot a water vole! Our enthusiastic leaders will provide captivating insights about these remarkable creatures and the essential conservation work we do to protect their habitats, sharing the story of how the Dee Estuary was created. Be sure to dress suitably for the weather and wear sturdy footwear, as our journey will cover approximately 2 to 3 miles with some steps and gradients to navigate. Rest assured, we will adjust the route is wheelchair accessible required, and mobility scooters are available for hire at the Visitor Centre. Don’t miss out on this unforgettable experience—binoculars will be provided for you to fully appreciate the beauty of the wildlife around you!

This free event is only open to people who formally volunteer with a registered charity, community group, or charitable company which is a member of Cheshire West Voluntary Action, and based or operating in Cheshire West.
