Islington has a vibrant history of community-led growing, including food growing, despite the some of the limitations that people face when growing in unusual and untapped spaces – don’t know about you, but we have found that this is when people who love growing become most creative.  

Talking of being creative, here at Octopus we have been collaborating with a team of experts looking at new, exciting, and innovative ways of transforming underutilized and undesignated growing space, for community-led urban food growing, including orchards.  

Now we are inviting the established and emerging growers and gardeners of Islington to join the Urban Cultivate team at the Community Plant Nursery on 29th April, to learn more about the project, and generally be inspired by how the place where we live has the potential for transformation.
