We're excited to launch our new Kids Learn to Cycle Lessons! These sessions are specially designed for girls and non-binary children aged 5 -12 who want to learn to ride a bike or build their confidence cycling. Just like our supportive adult lessons, these classes are friendly, patient, and totally judgement-free.
Our experienced instructors will guide them step-by-step in a safe, encouraging environment.
You can borrow a bike and helmet from our hub, or bring your own.
Parents can either come with the group during the lesson or pop out for some me-time for the hour and then come back to pick your child up.
Any questions before booking, contact Katherine at families@womenonwheels.org.uk or call
Why this session exists
Our Kids Learn to Ride (Girls & Non-binary) sessions are designed to create a welcoming, supportive environment where children who may feel less confident or less represented in mixed-gender activities can develop cycling skills at their own pace.
These sessions aim to reduce barriers to participation, build confidence, encourage physical activity, and help children develop independence and a lifelong enjoyment of cycling. We recognise that some children feel more comfortable learning in a group of peers with similar experiences, and these sessions are intended to provide that opportunity in a positive, respectful and encouraging setting.
Our instructors focus on creating a safe, inclusive and non-judgemental environment where every participant is treated with dignity and respect.
