NEPACS is a charity which aims to promote a positive future for people who have been affected by adverse situations in their lives, they work with families, young people and children, as well as those affected by the criminal justice or care systems.
Over 200,000 children have a parent sent to prison each year
More children experience parental imprisonment each year than divorce
These children are more than twice as likely to suffer mental health problems than their peers.
The Hidden Sentence Awareness Training gives an insight into the specific issues experienced by children and families of prisoners and the resources available to help you support these families.
Learning Outcomes:
Understand the impact of imprisonment on prisoners' families
Understand the support needs of prisoners families
Understand the needs and wishes of prisoners families
Increased awareness of the range of resources availble for people working with prisoners families
This training is limited to 20 spaces only
This training is fully funded, so we ask each designated person booking onto this course to be dedicated to attending and engaging. If possible, we do ask for 48 hours’ notice if anyone needs to cancel. If a cancellation is going to occur, please can we ask you send someone else from your organisation in your space.
