Young Hammersmith & Fulham (Young H&F) is a charity working to support voluntary youth organisations to thrive and deliver the best support for young people.

We believe every young person deserves the chance to thrive, and that starts with a strong, well-supported youth sector. So that’s our goal - to strengthen the youth sector in Hammersmith & Fulham by supporting the charities, organisations, and professionals who work directly with young people. 

We do this by: 

Building capacity through training, networks and shared learning
Young H&F provides opportunities for learning, upskilling and knowledge-sharing to help non-profit youth organisations to deliver the best support for young people, whilst also creating spaces for collaboration across our community.

Giving our community membership access to vital  funding 
We are pleased to provide community members access to the funding they need to create meaningful opportunities for young people through small grants.
 
Embedding youth voice into decision-making
We always strive to make sure that young people play a central role in shaping our work - from allocating funding as Young Grant Makers to facilitating peer research projects.

Driving Sector Development through Research and Partnerships
Young H&F strengthens the youth sector by identifying gaps and facilitating collaborative projects. Through research, pilot initiatives and cross-sector partnerships, we aim to strengthen the youth sector and help create more joined-up support for young people in Hammersmith & Fulham.

The course is designed to give participants the knowledge, skills and confidence to recognise the signs of someone experiencing poor mental health, start a supportive conversation and signpost them towards appropriate support. It also helps participants develop their own understanding of mental health, challenge stigma and contribute to creating healthier, more supportive environments. Participants will learn how to: Explain what mental health isRecognise signs of possible poor mental healthUnderstand some of the risk factors associated with poor mental healthLook after their own mental health and wellbeingApply the ALGEE Mental Health First Aid action plan in a supportive conversationUnderstand the role and responsibilities of an MHFAider&nbsp;Each participant receives:&nbsp;Digital MHFAider certificateDigital manualWorkbook with key information, note-taking space and practical tipsWallet-sized MHFA action plan reference cardThree years' access to the MHFAider Support AppMembership of the Association of Mental Health First Aiders, including access to ongoing resources, learning, webinars, events and research&nbsp;The membership also provides access to resources such as the Hub of Hope signposting database, wellbeing tools, conversation journalling and 24/7 text support through Shout. We ask for a £20 deposit to secure your place which will be refunded upon completion of the training. We require two working days notice if you need to cancel your place so we can offer the place to someone else. If you cancel with less than two working days notice, you will not receive a refund.We will be prioritising spots on this training session for under-25 workers and volunteers working for membership organisations. To receive the qualification, attendees need to attend all four sessions. Please only sign up if you are able to commit to all four sessions, otherwise your deposit may not be refunded.&nbsp;

Join us for the first Safeguarding Forum for Designated Safeguarding Leads!Co-hosted with LBHF and LSCP, this initial session will provide a space to c o-produce a terms of reference and agree an overall approach of future sessions. This initial meeting will take place online, will be led by Young H &amp; F and representatives from the LBHF Safeguarding team will also be in attendance.The forums will take place four times a year. This training covers the different types of child abuse, how to recognise the signs and indicators of harm, and the appropriate actions to take when concerns arise. Participants will learn how to respond effectively to disclosures, follow safeguarding procedures, and accurately record and report concerns to help ensure children are protected and supported.We will be prioritising spots on this training session for under-25 workers and volunteers working for membership organisations.
