MyOTAS (My Own Time and Space) is a parent-led charity based in Wickford, Essex, dedicated to improving outcomes for neurodivergent children and young people, and their families. 

Founded in 2019, we create safe, accessible and inclusive informed spaces where individuals feel accepted, understood, and empowered. A defining characteristic of MyOTAS is that our entire team is comprised of parents of neurodivergent children. This unique structure means that every team member possesses direct, personal experience with the challenges and triumphs faced by neurodivergent families. This lived experience translates into an inherently empathetic and deeply understanding approach to service delivery. 

We are passionate about sharing our knowledge and supporting other families on their journey. We know that many neurodivergent families face barriers to education, social connection, and emotional wellbeing. Our work is rooted in lived experience and shaped by the voices of those we support. Through a compassionate, community-led approach, we offer practical help, emotional support, and opportunities for growth and connection.

We’re delighted to introduce our Evening Parent &amp; Child Yoga Group - a gentle, supportive space where children aged 7–11 can come along with a parent or carer to explore movement, breathing and relaxation together. These sessions are designed to help families experience the potential calming and self-regulating effects of yoga in a low pressure, non-judgmental environment, where sharing time and learning alongside each other is at the heart of the experience. Whether you’re new to yoga or curious about mindful movement, our aim is to support you both to feel grounded, connected and relaxed — building confidence, regulation skills and calm together.&nbsp; Wear something comfortable and feel free to bring a blanket and drink. The female presentation of Autism is different to that of males. Come and learn about the differences and understand effective strategies. Nicola Durrant is an Autism Specialist Teacher and Mum to an Autistic daughter. The presentation looks at the female traits from a professional and parental viewpoint. Case studies of autistic young ladies are used making the knowledge and understanding more powerful. Many females are mis-diagnosed with mental health issues and their diagnosis is given much later than males. ACE-SEN Consultancy aims to educate and spread greater understanding and knowledge to support Autistic females. This training is suitable for parents and all professionals.

Some decide to apply independently, some feel their child is already receiving the right support, and others decide they would like more guidance before applying.
