This staff volunteering project supports our LGBTQ+ partners Say it Loud Club offering support and guidance with CV writing and job applications.&nbsp;SILC is&nbsp;a community of LGBTQ+ refugees and asylum seekers in the UK. Founded by one of the first people to obtain refugee status in the UK on the grounds of sexual orientation in 2010. Supporting a youth club for 8-16 years during school holidays. The club is led by Southern Housing, which is held weekly in their community centre. Open to all young residents from all three housing providers (Southern, Metropolitan and NHG) operating in this area. Staff volunteers are required to support these weekly sessions. DBS checks are not required as there will be no lone working and qualified youth workers will always be on site overseeing tasks. Support to set up/set down, clearing up, support sign in table, supervising different activities and engaging in activities, support delivery of directed workshops and support with mealtime.

Our Community Pantry aims to provide healthy food, practical support and a warm, welcoming environment where every family is treated with dignity and kindness.We're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us create a positive experience for everyone who attends.<h3>Volunteer tasks may include:</h3><ul><li>Welcoming families and helping them feel at ease</li><li>Setting up and packing away the pantry</li><li>Organising and restocking food and household essentials</li><li>Assisting families as they choose pantry items</li><li>Helping with children's activity packs and family resources</li><li>Serving refreshments where required</li><li>General support to ensure the event runs smoothly</li></ul>No previous experience is necessary. Nourished Routes Community Pantry & Family Support Hub

Designed for young artists of all abilities, these weekly sessions offer a relaxed, welcoming space where imagination can run free. Each Saturday, children explore a variety of hands-on art activities. From painting and drawing to sculpture, collage, and mixed media. Guided by friendly, professional Artists, kids are encouraged to experiment with new techniques, express themselves, and build confidence in their creativity.&nbsp;Characteristically, the majority of the attendees are NHG residents and family groups who can reach us on foot. As well as families, we invite mothers with infants, even though it would be hard for many of them to engage in the activities. We do this because we know that this is a place of belonging and community. For some single parents with pre-school aged children this is one of the very few options to socialise.&nbsp;Staff volunteers are required to work alongside workshop leaders to help deliver the session and support participants. &nbsp;At the back of Redmond Community Centre, a once loved communal garden needs bringing back into use. This space has a keen resident gardening group who need your support. Tasks include clearing debris, dead plants, fixing existing planters and replacing planters beyond repair, planting vegetables and herbs and replacing soil where required. There is a well attended resident food pantry running on Monday's too and community Kitchen. Volunteers will support to bring everything back into use. Office space is available for staff to bag drop, use internet and work from centre. Light refreshments provided.Your project lead is Grace Cleary grace.cleary@nhg.org.uk

Woodberry Down; communal garden, food pantry and resident allotment

A once loved communal garden has been neglected over time and needs bringing back into use to re-unite the communal kithcen and food pantry. At the back of Redmond Community Centre this once loved communal space has been untended to. Volunteer will support with clearing debris from garden and small shed, removing dead plants, fixing existing planters and replacing planters beyond repair, planting vegetables and herbs and replacing soil as required. There is also a resident food pantry on a Monday and a community Kitchen running from this space. Volunteers can support with this too. Office space is available for staff to bag drop and use internet/ work from centre.

Redmond Community Centre

Volunteer and support the development of this amazing meanwhile community garden for residents at our Graham park redevelopment. Led by Wayward our NHG partners this amazing space has everything, meadow, trees, green houses, allotments and even educational spaces driven by solar power. Cultivate Colindale 

These Creative Health and Wellbeing Workshops offer a welcoming, inspiring space where creativity meets personal wellbeing. The workshops are designed to support mental, emotional, and social health through accessible, hands-on artistic activities. Participants come from all over the local area, including the NHG resident community. Once in the room, they are&nbsp;encouraged to explore a variety of creative practices, such as painting, drawing, mixed media, in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere. Sessions are guided by professional artists who focus on process over outcome, helping individuals build confidence, reduce stress, and reconnect with their creativity.
