Term runs from 6 September 2025 to 20 December, 9:30 - 12:00. The new term of Young Farmers is open! Our Young Farmers programme has been an integral part of the farm, ever since we were founded over fifty years ago. Hundreds of young people have volunteered on the farm, with many going on to become vets, veterinary nurses, farmers, and more! Young Farmers is open to anyone aged 8 years – 16 years.The programme is free to attend.Sessions run on Saturday and Sunday mornings, 9:30 – 11:30.We take bookings for a term, following school term dates. Young farmers learn many skills, including all aspects of animal care – from mucking out and feeding, to proper handling skills and health checks. Everyone is expected to get involved, and we’re outside in all kinds of weather, so be prepared to work hard, get mucky, and have an amazing time! Regular, long-term attendees will also have the opportunity to take part in other activities, such as the annual London Harvest Festival, showing off their skills and our animals! Please note that if you want to volunteer for Duke of Edinburgh volunteering hours you need to contact the office on info@ktcityfarm.org.uk. Attending Young Farmers does not count towards DofE volunteering hours. As always, please do not include any nut/tree nut/sesame due to allergens. This holiday hub is not funded, so although we welcome children with SEN, we will not have any SEN workers available. If your child has complex SEN and you wish them to attend, you will need to provide a SEN worker to accompany them for the entire week. We also do not have any free funded spaces this time. Open to Young People aged 8-16, participants will get up to all kinds of fun farm activities! Mornings will be spent on the yard, mucking out the animals and working in the barns. Afternoons will be lots of different activities, including pottery, wildlife sessions, animal care, farm projects, garden time, and more! The sessions are open to young people aged 8-16 years, of all abilities and animaly backgrounds! Please only sign up for either Saturday or Sunday (NOT BOTH) to ensure everyone gets a chance to join us! Remember to wear warm clothes and wellies. We cannot wait for you all to have guinea pig cuddles and snuggles, sheep walks, and bunny grooming!

Get ready for our new midweek programme, Nature Nerds! We are so excited to bring our local Young People a new opportunity to spend time at the farm. We know that KTCF is a safe and happy place for so many people, and research shows that being in and around nature and wildlife improves wellbeing. With that in mind, we are starting a series of 5-week sessions for Young People aged 8-16 who would benefit from this extra time on the farm. We will be using the entire farm, from our animals and gardens, to our local wildlife. Each group is for a maximum of 8 Young People only to ensure these wellbeing sessions are as effective as possible. Whether your Young Person is finding it hard with school, exam stress, has either long term or temporary issues affecting their wellbeing, or just needs a regular break on the farm each week, these sessions are for them. As this is a small and very new programme, we won't have any SEN support workers available, but if your child would benefit from attending you are welcome to bring their 1:1 support worker with. Please let the office know ahead of time. Kit list<ul><li>Wear old clothes that are easy to clean/okay to get mucky - we are a farm.</li><li>Shoes need to be waterproof - wellies or walking boots are perfect.</li><li>We are heading into chilly season - wear warm layers that can be discarded if it is warm.</li><li>Bring a waterproof jacket in case of rain.</li><li>Bring a water bottle - hydration helps wellbeing.</li></ul> Please contact the office info@ktcityfarm.org.uk with any questions.
