Come join us this half term holiday for FREE activities at the Welsh Harp Environmental Education Centre. These activities are part of the Action for Silk Stream project who are working in partnership with the Canal & River Trust Community Roots Project (Brent) and supported by players of People's Postcode Lottery.


Morning activities 10.30am - 12pm

Afternoon activities 1pm-2.30pm


Monday 17th

Morning: Shelter building & Marshmallow roasting - gather round a camp fire in the woods to roast marshmallows. Build a woodland shelter and see if you can make it water proof! . Age 7+

Afternoon: Pond Dipping & Nature Crafts - Discover what lives beneath in the wondrous water environment at the Education Centre in our pond dipping adventure. Also join us indoors for nature crafts. Ages 5-12


Tuesday 18th

Morning: Reservoir Explorers - Meet at the Education Centre for a guided walk to the Welsh Harp Reservoir to explore different plants and animals. Make a clay face on a tree and a mini bug hotel to help bugs hibernate. Ages 5-12

Afternoon: Pond Dipping & Nature Crafts - Discover what lives beneath in the wondrous water environment at the Education Centre in our pond dipping adventure. Also join us indoors for nature crafts. Ages 5-12


Wednesday 19th

Afternoon: Help the Woods! - Become a woodland warden to help the creatures by pulling out plants to clear their homes and help the trees to grow tall and strong. This activity is for the whole family to get involved! We will be pulling ivy and brambles (blackberry plants) and making apple bird feeders to feed the birds! Ages 5+

Please register on Plinth to book your child tickets, no need to book for adults.

To book multiple child tickets, book your first one, then add a person to book another child.

If you need to cancel your booking, log into Plinth, go to My Account, My Bookings and cancel.


Further info:

  • An adult must attend & supervise children throughout activities.
  • You only need to reserve one ticket per child and no need to print, we have your details once you book.
  • Places are limited and booking is essential, please cancel your booking if you can no longer attend.
  • Children and adults should wear comfortable outdoor clothing and shoes that may get dirty as we will be walking on woodland pathways. Please bring a waterproof jacket if it is forecast to rain.
  • All tools and gloves provided for Help the Woods activity.
