Women on Wheels (SCIO) is a Glasgow based community cycling hub for women, girls and non-binary people. A service designed and led by women, we deliver a range of cycling activities to get women, girls and non-binary people back on a bike or onto a bike for the very first time.

Learning to ride a bike is a fun life skill to learn - and when better to start than as a tot? Join our friendly balance bike group and introduce your wee one to the fun of bikes! It's a fabulous place to chat with other parents/carers and build community and connection. We'll provide balance bikes and helmets but please bring your own if you have them. Join us for a half-day of Mountain Biking in Linn Park. This is the perfect opportunity for those wanting to try MTBing. Led by a qualified and experienced mountain bike coach, you'll learn the basic skills and techniques needed to ride some simple trails in Linn Park. You'll meet at the WoW hub and cycle to Linn Park together (25 minute cycle) and return to the hub by 2pm. Mountain Bikes and helmets will be provided. You must be a competent cyclist (able to control the bike, brake, change gears). More information and the plan for the day will be emailed a couple of weeks before the session. Join us for a day of mountain biking (MTB) at LifeCycle in Balfron. Suitable for women who have never been MTB or improvers but you must be able to ride a bike competently. The session will include coaching, chance to practice skills and a ride through the beautiful trails. Bikes &amp; helmets provided.&nbsp; 1-hour travel each way, 4 hours of MTB-ing and 30 mins for lunch. Transport is not included but we will set up a WhatsApp group the week before the session to organise lift shares so we can take as little cars as possible. ﻿Please wear clothes you are happy to get dirty and clothing suitable for the weather (Waterproofs, warm layers, gloves). You’ll be able to try different cargo bikes, chat with our friendly WoW Families Programme team and hear real stories about families who use them for school runs, shopping, park trips and weekend adventures. With electric assist to help with hills and heavy loads, honestly, cargo bikes are surprisingly easy, safe, comfortable and fun - even if you’ve never tried one before. We can also talk you through the practicalities... carrying children safely, what ages work well, what kinds of journeys you can do locally, storage ideas for tenement living, and how cargo bikes can fit into everyday family life.
