We are looking for volunteers&nbsp;and mentors who have experience and or the desire of working with young people and parents&nbsp;affected by Knife Crimes. To be a success in this role you will be able to demonstrate your&nbsp;experience of empowering young people, helping them to become vigilant in the face of adversity.&nbsp;You will be a confident front-line worker that can effectively communicate with young people.&nbsp;&nbsp;You will have a vital role to play in helping us to achieve our mission of offering visual knowledge on&nbsp;the effects of knife crime in our community. The ultimate aim is to effect attitude change among&nbsp;young people in the number of young people carrying knives or other weapons reducing subsequent&nbsp;knife crimes. We concentrate on young people's mental health and wellbeing. We are innovative&nbsp;and deeply passionate about what we do, working in the very heart of local communities.&nbsp;&nbsp;*We work in junior schools as well as working with 16–25-year-olds. * Travel expenses will be paid.&nbsp;&nbsp;• Volunteers and mentors are supported and trained on early help and prevention&nbsp;skills.&nbsp;• Volunteers are expected to support events and workshops.&nbsp;&nbsp;• We would like volunteers to use their initiative in creating, coordinating, and monitoring&nbsp;progression of workshops.&nbsp;&nbsp;• Volunteer Administrator role to include maintaining data.&nbsp;&nbsp;• Volunteer Fundraiser role to support raising funds.&nbsp;&nbsp;• Volunteer Counsellors in partnership with SMAKE counselling services.&nbsp;&nbsp; MENTORS - As a mentor your role will include acting as an Advisor and coach providing guidance&nbsp;motivation, emotional support, and feedback, to be a sounding board for ideas and action plans. To&nbsp;be a role model helping your mentees consider and weigh potential consequences of decisions and&nbsp;actions to avoid pitfalls and predictable outcomes that may occur. Mentors help in developing&nbsp;contacts and further resources.&nbsp;&nbsp;• Volunteer Coordinator for parent mentorship&nbsp;&nbsp;Induction- All volunteers and mentors are expected to attend four workshops that will include&nbsp;training sessions on: -&nbsp;• Listening Skills, Working with Young People, Safeguarding and Mentorship.&nbsp;&nbsp;DBS- And enhanced DBS disclosure is a requirement for this post.
