Action Youth Boxing Intervention is a dynamic provision that combines accredited learning with personal development. Young people work towards Functional Skills in Maths and English while also receiving one-to-one mentoring and engaging in structured boxing sessions that build confidence, discipline, and resilience. The programme supports learners to improve their academic skills, wellbeing, and life aspirations through a positive, motivating and supportive environment.

Action youth boxing intervention

Action Youth Boxing Intervention Provision is a holistic, sport-led education and mentoring programme designed to re-engage young people aged 16–25 who have disengaged from mainstream education or are at risk of becoming NEET.

We are an Ascentis-approved supplementary education and training provider, delivering Functional Skills in English and Maths alongside our England Boxing–accredited boxing training and mentoring provision. Our unique approach uses the discipline, structure, and values of boxing to support personal development, build confidence, and promote positive life choices.

As a supplementary education provider, we welcome referrals from a range of partners including the  local authorities, and criminal justice services, particularly for young people who have left school with no qualifications and/or are known to the criminal justice system. Our provision is designed to stop individuals from “falling between the cracks” by offering consistent, constructive engagement through weekly training, education, and mentoring.

Participants work towards achieving their core Maths and English qualifications, while also taking part in employability training to prepare them for the world of work. This includes CV writing, interview techniques, workplace readiness, and 1-to-1 motivational mentoring tailored to individual needs. Through a combination of education, sport, and targeted support, Action Youth Boxing Intervention Provision helps young people develop the skills, mindset, and resilience needed to move into employment, further training, or positive progression pathways.

Thursday Open Sparring Session – Action Youth Boxing Intervention 🥊Our Thursday Open Sparring Sessions give young people the chance to put their boxing skills into action in a safe, controlled, and respectful environment. These sessions are fully supervised by qualified coaches and are designed to build confidence, improve technique, and develop ring awareness.Sparring is non-competitive and age-appropriate, with an emphasis on control, learning, and having fun. Boxers are matched carefully by size, age, and ability, and protective equipment is always used. Coaches provide guidance, encouragement, and feedback throughout the session.What to expect:<ul><li>Light, controlled sparring rounds</li><li>Focus on technique, movement, and timing</li><li>Safe supervision and clear rules</li><li>Supportive coaching and positive energy</li><li>Opportunity to challenge yourself and grow</li></ul>These sessions help young people improve discipline, confidence, and resilience while enjoying boxing in a positive and respectful space.
